The term usally used to signify that a girl and a guy are just friends. But can some times be uses in a more sad way by saying that their just friends and one of them maybe likes them

Zach: OH MY GAWD R U LIKE DATING
James: UGH NO WERE JUST FRIEND'S(use 1)
Riley: yeah just friends (use 2)
