A name of a group of symptoms that masquerades semantically as a cause but isn't. A meaningless diagnosis of exclusion when doctors give up on finding the cause of their patients' neurological symptoms. Often goes hand in hand with gaslighting the patient and telling them the symptoms are psychosomatic.
The doctor told me my weird leg pain was just fibromyalgia and to get on with my life, but really I know it's probably due to intermittent spinal cord compression.
A sarcastic phrase used after receiving inappropriate or over-simplified health advice. Also a large community of internet trolls who shoot down any and all health advice that doesn't include a psychiatrist or a pill, and worship big pharma with outdated psychiatric models of "chemical imbalances".
Motivational poster: Exercise can help make people happy!
Troll: Oh really? Just exercise? That's all I need to do for my serious clinical depression? Why didn't I think of that? Wow thanks I'm cured!! Why don't I just throw away my Prozac pills and see how much serotinin I get from a fucking nature walk.
