Upstairs, downstairs, please shut up!

An expression used to inform someone they are behaving in a hyper or otherwise overactive manner (i.e. as in the metaphor “bouncing off the walls”) and your desire to have them tone it down a bit.

Marie: Upstairs, downstairs, please shut up!

Bobby: I’m sorry. Was I acting hyper again?

Choking The Rope

Similar to the expression ‘playing with fire’ although inciting different imagery. While both expressions refer to a course of action that may result in an unpleasing outcome either for you or others around you, ‘choking the rope’ more usually means its your own neck that’s on the line.

You’re really choking the rope with your attitude. I don't know how much more of this I can tolerate.

Christian hating Jew

An extremely ignorant way of insulting someone that actually has nothing to do with religion but more to do with simply being annoying. Most likely owes its inspiration to South Park.

Eric: Hey shut up you Christian hating Jew!

Kyle: Uhmm… what? I’m not Christian or a Jew, and I don’t hate either of them

Eric: Hehehehe. That doesn’t change the fact that you’re a Christian hating Jew

Beneath Another Sunshine

An expression used to describe someone who is either lost in a state of denial or overtly naïve. A state of ignorant bliss.

Maggie supposedly has no idea her boyfriend is cheating on her. She's clearly beneath another sunshine.

Hog And Water

Similar to a "Hog On The Rocks" in that it's a foul-tasting alcoholic beverage consumed for the express purpose of becoming drunk. However this version is mixed with water and more often becomes a regular order.

Well here's to another crappy day working at the same office I've despised for the last fifteen years! Barkeep give me a Hog and Water.

Quit Dreaming

Similar to the expression “in your dreams” which is a sarcastic way of responding to - or interrupting – someone who is busy telling you about their master plan and all the unrealistically fantastic things they think will happen to them. The difference is in this version you are making it clear they should get over themselves

Steve: I’m going to win this race and humiliate you in the process

Harry: Quit dreaming! That’ll never happen.

Constable Charming

An ill-mannered police officer who pulls you over for a minor citation, gives you a hard time over nothing, and acts like he’s above the law. Of course if there’s a real crime going on Constable Charming more than likely won’t notice even if you try pointing it out to him.

Ali: This annoying cop gave me a speeding ticket because I was driving too slow.

Victor: Ha! Constable Charming strikes again!
