shake the tail

When you've farted in a building while on the move and you take an indirect route to your destination in order to shake off the smell, disperse it and make it more difficult for those around you to track the source of the fart.

"Hey, what took you so long?"

"Sorry buddy, I had a huge curry last night, had to shake the tail, so I zig-zagged around the halls for 5 minutes"
