a verb useable in any situation, originated in the north east of scotland , used initially ammungst garden laborers when digging up turf with a shovel , a good chanf denoted a more than acceptable mound of turf being ploughed in one scoop. later converging into Scottish street culture , and then into London Suburbs e.g. Surrey . and later into the inner city grime scene particularly south London
