A town much like any other in south Florida that mainly consists of golf loving, leather skin having elders as well as the families that follow in their foot steps. It's a great mixture of gentrification/tasteless architecture. Lack of SPF is a common trend here as well as having the hope of always wanting to leave. Fort Myers is for that and many other reasons, called Fort Misery. And rightfully so. We have a surprisingly large amount of LGBT+ people here which is beautiful but since the town has a habit of tearing down local gay bars we typically have a choice of Rascal's (Bad drag and a community that would rather tear each other down than build each other up) or the other one in cape coral which escapes my mind currently, and well always since the only thing I remember from that place which was the lack of substance and the fact that the bar had a reward on they won that mentioned "alternative lifestyle". Overall the weather is great and if you find the right area you can always find some amazing local nature, historical sites, and cruising spots.
Them: "Where are you from?"
Me(reluctantly): "Fort Myers"
Them: "Where is that?"
Me: "Exactly"
