Stick Drift

Describes an affliction impacting joysticks on gaming controllers.

Stick drift is when a controller’s joysticks act as if they’re being moved, despite being still. This typically occurs when dust and debris get under the joystick and interfere with its sensors.

This occurs with most major console controllers, though the Nintendo Switch joycons have earned the most notoriety for stick drift problems.

Alex: “I’m getting the worst stick drift, don’t you have another controller?”
Trent: “Sounds like a skill issue to me!”

Uggly

Possessing or displaying one or multiple characteristics of Uggs.

Jerusalokiahemnet: “woah, your new shoes are mad uggly.”
Dr Hyde: “Thanks, they’re the Kirkland Signature alternative for Uggs.”

Microcheating

When someone ‘cheats’ in small ways that are not conventionally considered cheating.

This term is typically only used by people who lack an understanding of how relationships work, as cheating is can be any violation of the relationship agreement between two people. Cheating will look different based on the boundaries of every couple, so microcheating doesn’t actually mean anything.

Isabelle: “when he asks me what my biggest fear is and I can’t say him microcheating on me throughout the relationship and never finding out, so I just say spiders”

DTC

Abbreviation of Down to Clown

Ethan: Yo, Aaron, you DTC on Among Us tonight?
Aaron: Nah dude, I work at a local supermarket chain and I will be working until 2 AM.

Breadhead

A non-derogatory term for a person whose hair loosely resembles a loaf of bread. This haircut is typically short enough (1"-4") that the hair stands up on its own, and the hair is typically straight/wavy. Some examples of career breadheads are Michael Cera, Tom Cruise, Robert Pattinson, Tom Holland, etc.

Worm

A verbal or written exclamation to express acknowledgement, agreement, or excitement. Synonymous with the thumbs up emoji and the 100 emoji.

Can be written as "worm" or by using the worm emoji. Often used in channel-based instant messaging services like Discord, Slack, or Teams as a reaction emoji.

Brad: "Hey man, thanks for letting me borrow your toothbrush. That thing is so nice."
