Schwoogie

A Schwoogie was a name for neighbor kids who were essentially moochers. We used this back in the mid-80's in Kenosha Wisconsin. A distant relative who was deep into Dungeons & Dragons came up with this after we were all tired of neighbor kids knocking on the door every 1/2 hour to borrow something or to get an aspirin for their mom. Two others and I sat down one night and created a long definition which we passed around to friends to get a laugh. (I wish I still had the original definition) It had nothing to do with race. Our group of friends that hung around Kenosha McDonalds on Sheridan Rd. began calling each other Schwoogie just for entertainment purposes. Whether the person whom we credit with the word stole the term, I do not know.

You answer the door. It's probably the Schwoogies again, wanting to borrow aspirin for their mom.
