Cordycepted

Being "Cordycepted" is when a person, group, or organization is taken over by outsiders, usually political activists, and their original culture, mission, or goals is replaced with the outsider's political culture, mission, or goals, often self-destructively.

The name comes from the "Zombie ant fungi," Ophiocordyceps, which is a parasitical fungus that infects ants, literally forcing them to go to a high location and become a spore bomb to infect other ants.

The specific tactic when outsiders join a group to do this is called Entryism, and is a hallmark of political activism going back since at least the 60s. See also "Spectrum of Allies Analysis," a specific activist tactic that seeks to push a person, group, or organization "just one tick" in a certain direction, from "active opponent" to "neutral" to "active ally," often from outside the group.

While this is a primarily political or culture war thing, many artists also become cordycepted by fetish communities, particularly those who accept commission work. Artists who find a specific niche of commissioners or fans may find their work shifting to cover this niche near exclusively.

"I used to follow them on twitter but they've been so cordycepted they don't post about their webcomic anymore, they just rant about BLM, Trump, and other political crap."

Treehoused

A translation of some form of media, frequently Japanese videogames, which is heavily edited. Connotation is that the edits detract from the work, are not true to the source material, or are used to push the translator's beliefs or politics.

The most common edit is rewriting the media to make it "safe" for US audiences, which are assumed to be around 8 years old. This can include the removal of adult themes such as racism or murder, removal of difficulty options, removal of "offensive" art such as the female form, et cetera.

Other instances include rewrites instead of translations, often to push an agenda. Examples include inserting memes at random into the dialogue, giving characters "quirky" obsessions or speech impediments, or changing character traits such as sexuality or gender identity.

Specifically used as a derogatory statement. All translations include some form of localization -- changes for the audience. A piece of media is treehoused when these edits are poor quality or go beyond merely conveying the original author's intent and create new content out of whole cloth.

Named after Treehouse, Nintendo's official localization team, which infamously treehoused the localization of Fire Emblem Fates, making it nearly unreadable to anyone familiar with the source material, as well as heavily influencing other localizations during this era, such as Tokyo Mirage Sessions. These actions sparked the Torrential Downpour consumer movement on the internet.

"Don't pick up NieR: Automata, they apparently Treehoused the hell out of it."

absolute mongoloid

A modern slang term for an idiot. Comes from a very rare term for people with disabilities from the 16th century, particularly downs syndrome, which in turn came from a 15th century term for Eskimos and people of near eastern decent. No longer has any racial or disability connotations, but is still derogatory.

"Memes are modern day political cartoons, you absolute mongoloid."
