December 3rd is the national give your crush/lover a sweater you own day. It started when popular artist Conan Gray released the song Heather, a song about most likely unrequited love. The first lyrics of the song say "I still remember 3rd of December, me in your sweater, you said it looked better on me than it did you" and the song goes on. This is why since the release of the song, December 3rd has been national give your crush/lover a sweater.
