A ‘gem’ is a verbalist individual who talks badness online but who isn’t active in real life. The origin of the word may derive from the metaphor of an individuals loud online persona being so hard to find in real life.

“This *** guy said he’s gonna onsight me but he’s a gem.”
“Kmt, this *** guy owes me money, I’m gonna find this gem.”
