Julia is a copy of the (original) Italian name Giulia. They substituted the 'gi' with a 'j' because of their inability to pronounce the name correctly

teacher - *tries to read the name giulia* "gu-li-a, jew-li-a, im sorry i dont know how its pronounced!"
giulia (student) - "its pronounced julia"
