Pim weight
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
1. Pim weight, a polished stone about 15 mm (5/8 inch) diameter, equal to about two-thirds of a Hebrew shekel. Many specimens have been found since their initial discovery early in the 20th century, and each one weighs about 7.6 grams compared to 11.5 grams of a shekel. Its name, which can also be transliterated as "payim", comes from the inscription seen across the top of its dome shape: פ××.
From New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures 2013 edition
2. A weight as well as the price charged by the Philistines for sharpening various metal implements. Several stone weights found in archaeological excavations in Israel bear the ancient Hebrew consonants (פ×× â MYP {right to left} PYM) of âpimâ; their average weight is 7.8g (0.2508 oz t), which would be approximately two-thirds of a shekel. â 1 Sa 13:20, 21

Until Robert Alexander Stewart Macalister's excavations at Gezer (1902-1905 and 1907-1909), scholars did not know how to translate the word pim (פִÖ×× pÌîm) in 1 Samuel 13:21.
I will charge you a Pim for that.

This name has two or three etymologies. (1) Allison and all its variations are from, âAlicen or Alis (Old French and Norman French: Aalis and Aliz),â a feminine French diminutive of, âAlice.â Alice and its variations represents the short form of âAdelaisâ, which is derived from the Germanic name Adalhaid/Adalhaidis, composed of two elements: âaþalazâ (noble, nobleman, aristocratic, eminent, glorious, excellent) plus âhaiduzâ (kind, sort, appearance, personality, character, manner, way). (2) However, the name is also derived from: as a Masculine English matronymic meaning, âSon of Alice.â (3) Alice derived from the Greek, âAletheia,â meaning, âtruth.â Depending on etymology, the name Allison and its other variations can either mean, âNoble kind/Sort, Aristocratic Kind/Sort, Glorious Kind/Sort/Appearance, Excellent Character or Truth.â
Allison, we've already mistakenly arrested this man once.

(1) Recorded in several forms including Pim, Pimm, Pimme, Pym, and Pymm, this is a surname which at various times has been prominent in the history of England. The name itself is of medieval English (Anglo-Saxon) origin. It derives from the medieval female given name, 'Pymme/Pymma' (from âPhemieâ) which is a shortened/nickname or pet form of âεÏÏημαâ (Euphemia/Eufemia), a Greek name, introduced into Europe by the returning Crusaders of the 11th century. The surname Pym referred to the son of Euphemia which belongs to the category of patronymic surnames. Composed of the elements 'eu', meaning 'well', and 'phenai' meaning âto speakâ, the name was adopted by Christians, who used it in the sense of 'praise God' or 'good reputeâ (well-spoken-of or to speak well of). This Greek word is found at Philippians 4:8
(B) This name derives from the Ancient Greek name âEuphÄmÃa (Îá½Ïημία) Euphá¸mios (Îá½ÏήμιοÏ)â, composed of two elements: âeû (εá½)â (well) plus âphÄmà (Ïημί)â (speak, say, agree, affirm, assert). In turn, the name means âone who speaks well (good speech)â. The name can also be interpreted as "the one we are talking about right.
After hearing about the Pym technologies disaster, you even thought she'd been reduced to a microscopic level.
Those are your orders, Pym. Let's go!
The Pym Particle is a miracle.

ALEXANDER: (Hebrew ×Ö²×Ö¶×Ö¼Ö°×¡Ö·× Ö°×ֶר) Anglicized form of Latin Alexandrus (Greek Alexandros). This name derives from the Ancient Greek name âAléxandros (ÎλÎξανδÏοÏ)â, composed of two elements: âaléxÅ (á¼Î»ÎξÏ)â (keep off, turn aside, guard, protect, defend, help) plus âaná¸r (á¼Î½Î®Ï) andrós (á¼Î½Î´ÏÏÏ)â (man âadult maleâ, husband). In turn, the name means âdefending men, protector of menâ. This definition is an example of the widespread motif of Greek (or Indo-European more generally) names expressing "battle prowess", in this case, the ability to withstand or push back an enemy battle line. The name was one of the titles, "epithets", given to the Greek goddess Hera and as such is usually taken to mean "one who comes to save warriors". The most famous linked to this root is Alexander the Great, who created one of the largest empires in ancient history.
