to be in haste -- as in a street criminal who must do things quickly to avoid getting busted
further usage:
to be in haste when the situation is under high tension
and to be relaxed when there is no forseeable threat
we run on criminal time (we know how to kick it)
when you start to fall asleep while sitting upright and quickly snap or bob your head back up
derived from people bored at a speech, or spefically church sermon, who begin to "church nod" as they try not to fall asleep
