Phillips Ranch

A Los Angeles County suburb in Southern California, located about 30 miles east of downtown Los Angeles. It borders Chino Hills to the south, Diamond Bar to the west, and the rest of Pomona east of the 71 freeway. Area code 909 serves the neighborhood, hence many consider it part of the Inland Empire. Majority of the homes were constructed in the late 1970s and were completed through the early 1980s, followed by a second phase in the mid-1990s, along with two new condo tracts in the late-2010s. Many folks hold white collar jobs and it’s not a rare sight to see folks drive around in BMWs, Mercedes, newer SUVs, or modified trucks. Many residents purchased their homes when new, or in the couple of decades after, which ultimately resulted in an older age demographic nowadays. There really is no racial majority for the most part since the demographics are very mixed in nearly all blocks. However, anywhere south of Old Pomona Road tends to be more blue-collar, likely due to the fact that homes are cheaper there due to smaller square footage. The neighborhood is within the Pomona city limits, but many would never know due to the absence of Pomona street signs and the fact that Phillips Ranch is also used for mail purposes. Many folks who reside here don’t like to consider themselves as Pomona due to the contrasts between the neighborhood and the rest of the city. Crime is not too bad either, but

Person 1: “So, where do you live?”
Person 2: “I’m from Phillips Ranch.”
Person 1: “That’s a nice area man! That’s located in P-town right?”
Person 2: “Umm....yeah.....”
