(n) A condition whereby you forget everything that is relevant in real life because you are so engrossed by events happening on Facebook/Twitter/gaming/email/SMS etc.

Dan was so distracted by his textual flirtation with June whilst bidding on ebay that he completely forgot it was his mother's birthday and his sister's graduation ceremony. It's not the first time his media amnesia has got him into trouble.
