Sugared Down

Northern New England term, especially in Vermont, for when something is brought to it's final resolution or form. Taken from the process of making maple sugar using a wood or gas fired evaporator to boil off excess moisture content.

When it was all sugared down, Tom decided the result was not worth the effort.
