A social rule which enables you to take back something you say if you found that it was stupid or regrettable within ten seconds of saying it.

Greg: Hey Jimmy, do you want to go watch a movie?
Jimmy: Nah, sorry. I can't. I have a date with your sister tonight.
Greg: What?
Jimmy: Wait, ten second rule! I take that back!

The assumed lyrics to the line "get up on your feet, tear down the wall," in Persona 4's opening theme, "Pursue My True Self." A perfect example of how difficult it is to translate "Engrish."

Lance: Hey, you're playing Persona 4? Oh, I love that one song, "California Potato Power."

David: It's called "Pursue My True Self", dumb-ass.
