Darker than Black

Used to describe a story that is so hopeless, grim and edgy that it becomes aggravating. The worst examples of these are stories where the characters are also really bland and you stop caring about what happens because you know everyone's going to have a terrible end anyway.

I stopped reading your novel because it was darker than black and I lost interest in everyone because I know it will end horribly.
