Used as an adjective when describing any particularly poor shot/round of golf exhibited by the person in question. The phrase has become widely used around the Bedfordshire region of England where 'doing a Mcnally' is a source of utter embarasment for the golfer in question.
after exceeding 5 shots on a par 3, or alternatively missing a putt from under 3 inches, a golfer may state that they 'just did a Mcnally'
