demablogger

A portmanteau of demagogue and blogger, it is a person who uses a blog as a soapbox from which to preach to the unwashed masses and the rest of the world.

Compare to pedablogger, who uses their blog to educate rather than to orate.

Pete with his 'rant of the day' is one of the most entertaining demabloggers I know.

Your parents

So named because they existed before your birth

If your prenatals have no children, chances are neither will you.

exercisous

Enabling or promoting exercise, effective at making you more fit.

I used to walk every morning, but I switched to bicycling because it's more exercisous.

correctify

A portmanteau of correct and rectify.

To correctify something means to obsessively nitpick over details which in the pointy-headed purist's mind are so torturously annoying that he can't help but speak up about it. The significance of such details, however, is pure truthiness.

A behavior commonly associated with period nazis in the SCA and other medieval-recreation societies and LARPs.

Madus as they are used in the Amtgard LARP are hardly recognizable as "actual" madus, yet you'll often see players correctifying each other about what "real" madus should look like.

fair chair

The stamped metal chairs (sometimes padded), usually of a puke-brown or dull gray color, with a seat that folds up that you often encounter en masse at public fairs and other gatherings, outdoor weddings, sit-down concerts, church auditoriums, and so forth. Said chairs are designed to be stackable and often come on large racks. Notorious for getting skin-searingly hot if left exposed in sunlight for any length of time.

I went to a concert this summer and nearly burnt my legs on one of those fair chairs!

Fifth World

The internet. So called because it is the 'electronic frontier' not quite under the jurisdiction of any one government, where everyone browses at their own risk and antivirus software is a must.

There are no rules in the Fifth World, netizen.

A hypothetical propulsion technology that allows a vehicle to teleport instantaneously via an artificially-created wormhole.

I bought a jump drive for my car so I could get to work in five minutes.
