Wigan Wedge

A delicacy from the North West of England. Allegedly originating in the Wigan area, hence the name, but also popular in Manchester.

Butter a bread roll, or barm-cake. Microwave a pork pie (growler) until the pastry goes soft and the jelly begins to melt, and then put the pie in the bun. Yummy.

What did you have for breakfast this morning?

A mug of tea and a Wigan Wedge

Growler

Colloquial North West of England term for a pork pie. The main ingredient of a Wigan Wedge.

You've got bad wind today, Harry.

Yep....that was the week-old growler I had for lunch.
