Political Party Blame Game

When people (most famously pundits like Hannity, O'Reilly, Olbermann, ect.) blame all of our problems and nitpick the problems of their opposing party. While not touching on subjects that portray THEIR party negatively.

Or more simply, somebody of one party blames all of their countries problems on their opposing party. While ignoring anything negative their party has done to the country.

Olbermann wouldn't stop talking about how Bush was ruining America, but doesn't say how Obama is ruining America.

While Hannity didn't say how Bush was ruining America, but tells how Obama is ruining America.

These are prime examples of the political party blame game. Blame everything

assume the position

It could be viewed and used sexually... but in reality..

It is a statement that you make right before you make a big assumption. I'm not quite sure on the technicalities of it all but...

Assume (v)
6. To take for granted; suppose

Position (N)
6.A point of view or attitude on a certain question

So you are taking for granted, or supposing, on a point of view or attitude on a given subject.

If you say this around your friends, they will think of the nasty word first, but then you can impress them with your superior vocabulary skills.

This was possibly made popular from HBO's Robert Wuhl Assume the Position. Where he talks about things that history books tend to ignore.

"I'm going to assume the position, right off the bat, that history is pop culture." -Robert Wuhl

"I think it's safe to assume the position, that there was no such thing as a colonial quickie." -Robert Wuhl

Barclay Syndrome

The type of syndrome you assign to somebody when they are obsessed with self-diagnosis and are very overractive.

Name is due to the character Reginald Barclay from Star Trek. Whom in one episode kept giving himself all sorts of self-diagnosis.

Also known as (more technically) hypercondriac

Person A: I've had the slight dizziness and clammy skin. I looked online and I think I have the swine flu.

Person B: No, you just have Barclay Syndrome.

Barclay: I think I have Terellian Death Syndrome!

Person B: No, you just have Barclay Syndrome
