Schrödinger's Sock

A sock puppet, aka sock account, aka sock, is an online identity used for purposes of deception. The term, a reference to the manipulation of a simple hand puppet made from a sock, originally referred to a false identity assumed by a member of an Internet community who spoke to, or about, themselves while pretending to be another person. Schrödinger's Sock is named after social media accounts that may or may not be sock accounts depending on who is asking the unconfirmed owner of a particular account. This term was inspired by a Follow Friday tweet on Twitter.

That bitch is using a Schrödinger's Sock account on Twitter. First she told me that was her real name, but she told Pookie she was using a fake name to catfish dudes.
