OACD

"Original Animated Comic Dub", pronounced either "Oh - A - Cee - Dee" or "whack'd".

Type of motion comic video format where comics (or manga) are slightly animated and dubbed over with voice acting.

The difference to regular motion comics is that this format takes less effort to produce and is referring to original content often made by independent creators. The comics in an OACD remain fairly unaltered and are true to the original artists work. Its an effort to bring comics closer to people who are too lazy to read, and a way to push unknown artists with potentially great ideas into the spotlight.

OACDs are roughly placed in the middle between comic and animation:
*Comic (static) < Comic Dub / Storyboard (no panels) < OACD / Motion Comic / Animatic (no panels) < Animation*

Have you seen the new OACD by artist?!
- Yeah, the animation and voice acting was great!
