Subie

A drug seeking individual, addicted to mostly prescription opiates, who hops from Pharmacy to Pharmacy (usually high) in search of someone to fill his / her less than legitimate prescription. Often acting like a fool and becoming irate if they are denied access to their drug of choice. The term comes from an abbreviated form of the trade name Suboxone, a drug that helps people break addiction to opiates such as Oxycontin, Morphine, Hydromorphone, Heroin etc. that many believe these individuals should be on.

Did you hear, John got arrested again for passing a fake Oxy script at CVS. Yeah, man that guy is such a Subie!

or

Pharmacist: My day was going just fine until I had to deal with that Subie. Do they really think a prescription written in crayon for "oxy-cotton" is going to do anything but land them in the back of a police car?
