emo

short for "emotional punk" started in the 90's with bands like fugazi. i dont like them, but hey what do i know. emo is a type of music not a fashion trend, or hair-do. emo doesnt mean "im going to go cut myself." that is a massicist. i listen to emotional punk, and i have no desire to cut myself, or cut my hair so that it drapes my face. if you call this genre of music "emo," then you might as well call everything from country to rap emo, because the majority is all about heartache or tragedy.

"that kid has tight pants, and wierd hair! i bet he cuts himself, and then cries himself to sleep everynight!" thats not emo.
