Maniac

A word describing a person of particularly nasty or unpleasant personality, or one behaving in a hurtful manner towards others. Used in this context particularly in Israel, the term is often used to describe someone's military commander, boss, as well as any person or organization exerting rank or authority such as policemen or managers. Between friends, it may be used with a friendlier context.

"My boss asked me to work late today. he's such a maniac"
"That maniac cop pulled me over for driving 4 MPH over the limit"
"Those guys at the hardware store are maniacs. They dropped their prices right after I bought the lamp"
Between friends: "You forgot about our dinner plans, you maniac"

naim

A word describing the act of giving (or getting) caressed in a loving manner. Derived from the Hebrew word for "pleasantness", it's commonly used when asking to be caressed, like a child would ask a parent or a person would ask his or her lover.

Honey, please give me Naim on my back?
Son, would you like some Naim?
