to be tricked, specifically led into something that was never really there. like the cereal Trix, where the rabbit is led on by those kids but he never gets the cereal.

Person 1: So I woke up early to go to the caf, because I heard they'd have french toast today....
Person 2: And??
Person 1: They didn't. I got up at 6 AM only to be trixed.
