An umbrella term for all orientations that are related to having little to no romantic and/or sexual attraction, or that fall on either the aromantic and/or asexual spectrum(s). One need not to fall on both spectrums to be considered part of the aromantic/asexual spectrum.

An umbrella term that encompasses all non-normative and/or atypical sex, gender, sexual, and/or romantic identities and typically used interchangeably with LGBT(Q+) but with an emphasis on nonconformity and anti-assimilation due to its origin as a word meaning "strange" and later as a slur against homosexuals; alternatively a standalone label for those who do not wish to further clarify their identity
Person 1: I identify as queer!
Person 2: ...Isn't that a slur against gay people?
Person 3: It was and sometimes still is, but many queer people have reclaimed it and find it's the only word that fits us.
