superbird

a model of an xa ford falcon in australia. released in 1973 featured a v8 302ci cleveland motor ,two tone paint -blue/white,green/white , orange/brown and lime green/ dark green. also features a "super bird" decal on the rear 1/4 panel. only 750 ever made.

wow , look fred , that superbird is thrashing that monaro and the pacer in the back street drag. it really is a superbird.

Australian slang.
Two bob was once known as two cents in currency, and a watch is an instrument to measure time .
In todays terms ,together they form " a 2 cent watch" .
Would you buy a watch for 2 cents ? and how good would you expect it to perform?. probably very erratically.
Hence the ocker term "as mad as a two bob watch"
