The verb "crack" meant to boast proudly. Cracker became an insulting, pejorative name during the 1760s, referring to Scots-Irish settlers and their joking antics. There are other theorized origins. However, all theories indicate white people calling other white people "crackers."
2) A wafer-like, unleavened snack composed primarily of flour and water.
3) A firecracker.
That redneck cracker asked me for cheese and crackers, but threw ignited crackers at me when I informed him that I had no cheese.
