captain calculate

1: A mythical figure whom possesses math skills of a much higher level than that of an average mortal man. (Believed by some to have the ability to solve complex quadratic equations with minimal expenditure of time and/or physical exertion.)

2: One whom has the ability to go medieval on that seemingly unsolvable and obscure "The train left the station" problem's ass.

"Im no captain calculate, but 31 divided by 2 doesn't exactly perplex me."

seville calculator

A myth by glasgow Rangers fans that the world media had a agenda against them.
While the world media reported the amount of Celtic fans as between 60,000 to 80,000 Rangers fans still insist they were no more than 30,000.
They also believe than the awarding of the World and European Fair play awards to Celtic fans only happened because of the biggest cover up ever in history in the history of mankind.

In a rangers pub you might hear "Them and their seville calculator ,I remember going to ibrox in the early 80,s I was one of the 5,000 loyal fans.
The problem is you hear that from almost every rangers fan over 40 and realistically you would need some kind of super seville calculator to figure that one out.

No Calculators Allowed

When studentsโ€™ reliance on a scientific or graphing calculator prevents them from being fluent in performing certain basic operations, such as factorizing a function, finding the zeros of a cubic polynomial, and standardizing a normal distribution from the Statistical Tablesโ€”ritually pressing a set of keys often conceals their poor understanding or mastery of these routines.

If only math teachers and tutors would implement the โ€œNo Calculators Allowedโ€ rule, students would be manually forced to learn the routine or tedious steps in getting the answer to some intermediate step of a problem.

Infinity Calculator

Imaginary calculator, the use of which, is sarcastically suggested by others to highlight a person's incapacity in completing a technical task. A secondary function of the term's use can be to convey the frustration experienced when working with such a person.

Brendan: How do you get the final answer in this problem?

Paul: Just use the Infinity Calculator in Excel.

Brendan: What? Where's that?

Paul: You mean you don't know how to use the Infinity Calculator? FFS!
