It's like if there was two of Socrates, they went into an argument and both lowered their standards on purpose in an attempt to get their their partner to do so aswell, except neither of them did it on purpose, rather because they are both genuinely mental, and then ~8-24 million other retarded hairy, fatty and sweaty men from 400 B.C. joined in on the argument, resulting in an infinite loop of standards being lowered and sanity being lost, except it's not even an argument anymore, rather an unregulated imageboard with a community composed of neckbeards sharing images of humanoid wolves sucking themselves off in full comfort of anonymity.

But in 4chan, trivial information is accumulating every second, preserved in all its triteness. Never fading, always accessible. Rumors about petty issues, misinterpretations, slander... All this junk data preserved in an unfiltered state, growing at an alarming rate. It will only slow down social progress, reduce the rate of evolution.

Basically what Voldemort and Taliban would be as an Internet site, talking shit about 4Chan or even saying 4chan is forbidden on some forums because they're afraid that 4Chan members will pickup on it by Google search and wreck their sites. 4Chan is anonymous's stomping grounds and they're guys you don't want to fuck with, and they have the ability to ruin your life well pass the internet as they are quite skilled and cool hackers. They were even revving up to take on AT&T for a supposed site banning around late 2009.
Their latest thing has been the Jessi Slaughter fiasco, which everyone thought was going to be the end of 4Chan, but it wasn't. It also led to a war on Gawker.com that failed, not because the 4chan hackers suck, because Gawker got lucky and it was an unorganized raid on Gawker's servers, and some of Gawker's technicians caught it before it could go down.

The most random place on the internet. The plus side is there are no rules, you can vent away, and say and post the most fucked up things you want, and it's completely anonymous, there aren't even proper usernames. The downside to that is you will see some pretty fucked up shit. But you will also see lots of funny shit, and you can go on the particular area of the sites that suit your interests. Imagine reddit but more anonymous, and with more freedom of speech.
Guy1: Hey did you see this meme on instagram?
Guy2: No I saw it 2 years ago on 4chan, however the version I saw was significantly more graphic.
