Someone who loves mock other countries, act, talk, and look incredibly tacky and/or cheesy, and who loves to pervert the english language.
Most chavs try to be as American as possible, if not actually American in nationality.
American: Color, Aluminum, GlacierPronounced "glay-sher", Spelled
Normal: Colour, Aluminium, Glacier Pronounced "gla-see-er", Spelt
And thousands of other mispellings through laziness

The term American can be used for anyone in the Americas, however its really just people from the U.S.A. If you bring this argument up to anyone who isn't a American from U.S.A they will think we are ignorant because no one else calls Canadians or Mexicans Americans. Even though our full name is the United States of America, is there any other country with America in its title? Yeah, I didn't think so either.
Italian: I'm European.
Canadian: Then I guess I would be American.

Logically you would think the word "american" stands for someone from North or south America, but..
On the internet the words definition has been changed, it is more commonly used to describe an ignorant, mindwashed, stupid or dumb person.
For example you could see a comment like This "are you american or something?" on a video or tweet, that is plainly dumb or too stupid to ever have been thought about
