Nayarit Mexico

Nayarit Mexico - mexican state bordered by the mexican states of Sinaloa to the northwest, Durango to the north, Zacatecas to the northeast & Jalisco to the south. West of Nayarit is the
coastline of the Pacific Ocean, including the islands of Marías and Marietas. The beaches of San Blas and the so-called "Riviera Nayarit" are popular with tourists.

Nayarit is a small state in western Mexico between the forested mountains of the Sierra Madre Occidental and the Pacific Ocean. In the north of the Nayarit Riviera coastline is the colonial town of San Blas, whose Fuerte de San Basilio fort once protected the area from pirates. Just south are Matanchen Bay’s surfing beaches, while north is Mexcaltitlán Island, considered the birthplace of Aztec civilization.

Nayarit Mexico is best known for its idyllic stretch of Pacific coastline, home to the popular resorts of the Riviera Nayarit area, the surf haven of Sayulita and the upscale Punta de Mita tourism development

Durango Mexico

Durango Mexico - Durango is Mexican state landlocked by sinaloa to the west , Chihuahua to the north, Coahuila to the north east , Zacatecas to the south East,Nayarit to the south west .

Durango is a rural sparsely populated state, most common animal is the scorpion. Durango is Known for their Leatherwork includes bags, wallets, belts, cigarette cases, briefcases, books & saddles.

The city of Durango is on the foothills of the Sierra Madre Occidental

Most of the economically important natural resources come from mining, including deposits of gold, silver, iron & mercury. There are also large deposits of marble also.

Durango foods include venorio, which is made with pork ribs, cactus and a chile sauce, & gallina borracha (drunken hen), which requires chorizo, chicken, mezcal and sherry. Carne seca (beef jerky) is another local favorite.

The Sierra Madre Occidental blocks moisture from the Pacific Ocean, impacting the local climate of the state. Las Quebradas region, located over the mountain chain and on the northwest of the state, has a humid subtropical climate.

The rest of the state has semi-arid and temperate climates. It is hot & dry in the East, with some temperate areas existing at higher elevations Most of the state is mountainous and heavily forested.

Tamaulipas Mexico

Tamaulipas Mexico - is located in northeast Mexico and is bordered by the mexican states of Nuevo León to the west, San Luis Potosí to the southwest, and Veracruz to the southeast. To the north, the U.S.–Mexico border with USA state of Texas, and to the east it is bordered by the Gulf of Mexico.

Since the 1970s. This state is known to be the site of a territorial struggle between the Gulf Cartel and Los Zetas Currently as 2014 on ward Tamaulipas continues to be affected by violence .

tamulipas is best known for meat dishes & seafood. torta de la barda, a soft white roll stuffed full of ham, chorizo, fried pigskin, beans, and avocado

Mangos a la canela- mango, sugar, and cinnamon stick are covered with water simmered until the sugar dissolves.
The mango is removed from the pan and the remaining liquid is reduced until syrupy & thick. slices of mango are arranged on a plate, drizzled with syrup can be hot or cold, dessert is typically served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side.

Tamaulipas mexico capital city is Ciudad Victoria, the state's largest cities include Reynosa, Matamoros, Nuevo Laredo, Tampico, and Mante.

Polk had desired to annex Mexican territory as far south as Tampico although his negotiator Nicholas Trist, disregarded this & settled on a border with Texas on the Rio Grande.In the wake of the war, Tamaulipas remained an object of interest to American expansionists. The climate was considered suitable for the spread of slavery by Southerners who desired the admission of new territory, then Governor of Mississippi Senator Albert Gallatin Brown wanted Tamaulipas, Potosi, and 2 other Mexican states & wanted them all for the same reason for the plantation and spreading of slavery.

During the 1860s
France also wanted conquest of Tamaulipas.

Tamaulipas was originally populated by the Olmec people and later by Chichimec and Huastec tribes.

Coahuila Mexico

Coahuila Mexico - 1 of the 32 states of Mexico , Coahuila borders the Mexican states of Nuevo León to the east, Zacatecas to the south, Durango & Chihuahua to the west. To the north of Coahuila there is Mexico–United States border, adjacent to the U.S. state of Texas along the course of the Rio Grande (Río Bravo del Norte). It comprises 38 municipalities .

The largest city & State Capital is the city of Saltillo; the 2nd largest is Torreón (largest metropolitan area in Coahuila & 9th largest in Mexico); the 3rd largest is Monclova (a former state capital); the 4th largest is Ciudad Acuña & the 5th largest is Piedras Negras.

Coahuila is largely arid or semi-arid, but the rivers of the State support extensive irrigated agriculture, particularly cotton. The Parras district in the southern part of the State produces wines & brandies. The pine-oak forests of the Sierra Madre produce timber.

The portion of the State west of the Sierra Madre Oriental lies on the Mexican Plateau, is part of the Chihuahuan Desert.

Coahuila is 1 of Mexico's major steel & wine producers
& is ran by the Los Zetas Cartel.

Coahuila Mexico , About 95% of Mexico's coal reserves are found in Coahuila, which is the country's top mining state.

Saltillo & the Southeast region have one of the largest automobile industry in the Mexico & the major industry in the state, hosting companies such as General Motors & Chrysler assembly plants.

Foods they are known for are

As in other northern Mexican states, Coahuila's dishes consist of beef, veal, lamb or goat. Tacos, marinated flank meat, beef jerky, fritadas (goat in its juice) and machaca (beef jerky with scrambled eggs.

Cabrito al horno -- baked goat

Machaca con huevo -- dried, salted beef that is rehydrated, lightly roasted over fire, soaked in water to remove the salt and to soften, then pounded to pieces, traditionally over a mesquite trunk, by a mesquite pole. Then it's put in water again to get out more salt, & finally squeezed & fried in a skillet. A salsa is made with onion, chili, tomato & oregano, the salsa is mixed into the fried beef & the whole thing is cooked for about 5 minutes. Most people expect to eat this with wheat tortillas, beans and coffee. This particular machaca also contains eggs

Cajeta de membrillo & Cajeta de perón -- traditional cajetas are typically gelatin-based deserts congealed in a round box 4 or 5 inches across, made of thin wood slivers. Membrillo is quince, & perón is a pearlike fruit .

Jamoncillos de Piñón - finely ground pine-nuts prepared with milk & sugar.

Querétaro Mexico

Querétaro Mexico - 1 of the 32 federal entities of Mexico. It is divided into 18 municipalities. Its capital city is Santiago de Querétaro. It is located in north-central Mexico, in a region known as Bajío. It is bordered by the states of San Luis Potosí to the north, Guanajuato to the west, Hidalgo to the east, México state to the southeast & Michoacán to the southwest.

Santa Rosa de Lima cartel runs this place .

Popular foods here are

Enchiladas Queretanas - enchilada filled with chicken and coated in guajillo sauce. The enchiladas are then served with stewed potatoes & carrots, fresh salad, cotija cheese.

gorditas de migajas. a type of gordita made with pork rind crumbs mixed into the corn masa

Guajolotes - Mexican sandwich made with pambazo bread filled with meat (usually pork or chicken), lettuce, crema (Mexican sour cream), cotija cheese drenched in guajillo sauce.

Pozole Rojo - Pozole refers to a pre-Hispanic soup or stew made with hominy corn as its key ingredient. The corn is mixed with meat (usually pork or chicken) other ingredients like shredded lettuce, radish, onion, garlic, chili, avocado, lime. 3 main types – rojo (red), verde (green), blanco (white)

Querétaro Mexico ... Querétaro is not to be confused with
Quintana Roo. Even though they both start with Q .

Shoot both places are 20 hr 45 min apart from each other,
Quintana Roo is closer to the Caribbean,Yucatán, Belize and Guatemala while Querétaro is closer to San Luis Potosí .

Tabasco Mexico

Tabasco Mexico - located in the southeast of the country, bordering the mexican states of Campeche to the northeast, Veracruz to the west, and Chiapas to the south & the country of Guatemala to the southeast. It has a coastline to the north with the Gulf of Mexico. Most of the state is covered in rainforest as, unlike most other areas of Mexico, it has plentiful rainfall year-round. The state is also home to La Venta, the major site of the Olmec civilization, considered to be the origin of later Mesoamerican cultures. It produces significant quantities of petroleum & natural gas.

Typical dishes include those with iguana meat, gar fish, beef puchero, smoked oysters, totopostes, pork with beans and tortillas made with banana and fresh corn

Chocolate is still found in preparations which have not changed since pre Hispanic times mostly as hot or cold beverages. The most common cold chocolate beverage is pozol, served fresh or fermented.known for its sweets such as sweetened fruits in corn husks, often accompanied by a cacao and corn beverage called chorote.

Same name .Traditional masculine dress consists of a white shirt & pants, with black shoes, black belt, a hat in a style called "chontal" red handkerchief around the neck. This dress is based on an older type of clothing called traje choco, made of cotton cloth called manta, used to work in the fields.

Traditional female dress consists of a wide skirt trimmed with a ruffle. Under the skirt is a slip designed to fluff the skirt and make the waist look smaller. The blouse is white with an embroidered band in bright colors, often with flower &/or animal designs. It has short sleeves ending in a square form in the lower part. The woman often carried a small handkerchief and a shawl called a rebozo in bright colors, often complementing the skirt. The shoes are black.

Yucatán Mexico

Yucatán Mexico - located on the Northern part of the Yucatán Peninsula. It is bordered by the mexican states of Campeche to the southwest & Quintana Roo to the southeast, Gulf of Mexico off its Northern coast.

Yucatecan food has its own unique style of Mexican food. influenced from it's local Mayan culture.

Poc Chuc - a Mayan/Yucatecan version of barbecued pork.

Queso relleno - a dish featuring ground pork inside of a carved Edam cheese ball served with tomato sauce & gravy.

Pavo en Relleno Negro - turkey stew cooked with a black paste made from roasted chiles, a local version of the mole de guajalote found throughout Mexico. The meat soaked in the black soup is also served in tacos, sandwiches & even in panuchos or salbutes and is usually referred to as "Relleno negro".

Xnipec - a fiery hot salsa or relish similar to pico de gallo, made with habanero chiles & Seville orange juice

Sopa de Lima, a lime-flavored soup with meat (turkey, chicken, or pork), served with tortilla .

Kalani is a rum and coconut liqueur produced by a Yucatan-based company Casa D'Aristi.

Xtabentún a Honey & Anise liqueur from Yucatan. The drink is made from fermented honey of xtabentún plant with white flowers that is native to the region.

Fermented honey mixed with rum & anisette to produce a sweet liqueur .

Yucatán Mexico capital city is Mérida.

During the Porfiriato, in 1902, Yucatán was divided to form the Federal territory that later became A new state of Quintana Roo.

As of 2016 the Mexican National Public Security System ranked Yucatán as "one of the safest states in Mexico".Mérida was awarded City of Peace in 2011.
