Duty Manager

A Duty Manager manages a group of employees who are individually responsible for several different tasks and are occasionally unable to figure out what to do next and/or even know what needs to be done next. Often a Duty Manger will perform these tasks if it would otherwise be more onerous to find somebody else to do it, especially in a case of a waiting customer.

Customer: "Excuse me, I'd like to sign up for a membership".
Duty Manager: "Excellent!, If you can just have a seat over there, and help yourself to some refreshments. We will be with you in a couple minutes".
Customer: "Decent".

Duty Manager goes to find a Sales Rep, but they are all out to lunch.

Duty Manager to Customer: "OK, so I can get this processed for you no problem. It should only take a few minutes".
Customer: "Decent".

Duty Manager carries out membership account creation like a Boss.

micro-manage

To direct or control in a detailed, often meddlesome manner. At the root of virtually all micromanagement is fear. Fear that if they don't do it, no one else will (or no one will do it as well). Fear that the organization will fail, will have horrible things happen to it. Fears about money, about bad press. When individuals behave badly it is usually because they feel their comfort or security is threatened in some way. When boards behave badly (and micromanagement is just one symptom of this), they are usually concerned about the health and safety of the organization. If you can keep in mind that boards micromanage because they care and therefore have fears and concerns, and NOT because they are power hungry control freaks, then you will be better equipped to get them to stop.

Instead of trusting his employees to do their job, Hugo micro-manages every detail - thus, ensuring the project takes longer to finish than necessary.

Mischief Managed

Phrase used to 'close' the Marauders Map, making it blank and causing it to appear as a normal piece of parchment until the words "I solemnly swear I am up to no good" are spoken, which activate it. (Part of the Harry Potter book series)

"As Sirius Black noticed Snivellus Snape come around the corner, he cried 'Mischief Managed' and the Marauders Map became blank."

IMRL Manager

IMRL MANAGER: The marine who tracks specialized test equipment, (imrl gear) for the maintenance departments in all aviation squadrons in the NAVY and Marine Corps. Usually works in Tool Room.
-also-
IMRL MANAGER: The marine assumed to be responsible for EVERYTHING, because no one understands for sure what they do. Most often thought to be associated with tools, HAZMAT, or supply.
-also-
IMRL MANAGER: The hardest working marine in the squadron who is constantly presumed to be a lazy shitbag because no one knows what they do.
-also-
IMRL MANAGER: The marine to blame for everything that goes wrong.

As in . . . .

Marine 1) Hey we broke all these tools for no reason, lets go ask the IMRL Manager to fix it, she's been at work for the last 72 hours but I'm sure she isn't busy.

Marine 2) Hey we didn't make our flight hours this week, it's definately that imrl Manager's fault.

Marine 3) Hey supply hasn't brought us any of the staplers we ordered. Let's complain to the IMRL manager, i think that's part of his job.
