Any game fullfilling the three basic requirements of:
a.) The game must have a ball,
b.) There must be rules and scoring,
c.) This is the big one: there must be a physically active defense involved.
Football and soccer (futbol) are sports. Golf, track, and cross country are not, they are activities, which require skill none the less.

A physical competition between two or more teams in that the competing teams must be facing each other head to head, or alternate back and forth to determine superiority. It is necessary that you are goin head to head with at least one person so that you can talk shit.
