Wright's Law

On social media, no matter the subject of the original post, as the number of responses increases, the probability of someone bringing up Trump for literally no reason approaches 100%

(Alternately known as Wright's Corollary to Godwin's Law)

Coined by author and blogger of Stonekettle Station Jim Wright on 3/18/21

"I'm excited about seeing family this holiday!"

"Best of all, we won't have to stress about Trump over the holidays this year!"

"Now, why'd you have to go and invoke Wright's Law like that? We're trying to NOT mention the former guy, remember?"

Armstrong's Law

Armstrong's Law describes the phenomenon observed when discussions between Americans and non Americans about a variety of topics, where it become apparent America is not the greatest at said topic, the likelihood of the American to arbitrarily bring up the US moon landings as a non sequitur increases dramatically.

Mathematically, Armstrong's Law is defined as the probability of the moon landings being inserted into the debate (P(ml)) increasing exponentially as a function of time (t) of the discussion, once it becomes obvious that America is in fact inferior in regards to the subject being discussed

Thus: P(ml) = exp^(t)

Named for American astronaut Neil Alden Armstrong who became the first human to walk on the surface of the moon on July 21, 1969. Amstrong's Law is recognised by science and has been observed all over the internet in discussions ranging from the geo-political impact of American foreign policy, to tackling poverty, to whether cheese in a can is really cheese.

"There are two types of country. Ones with socialized healthcare, and ones who have walked on the moon."

"Oh my god, I love how Americans can bring the MOON LANDING into literally EVERYTHING. Talk about soccer, result? "Walked on the moon", you can't argue with Armstrong's Law."

"Some countries have landed men on the moon other countries use the metric system."

Heart's Law

'Heart's Law' is a cringeworthy attempt by Hex founder, Richard Heart, to have a "law" named after himself.

Richard observed that if something is priced in another asset, then its price rises or falls in tandem with that asset. This is very noticeable in certain AMM liquidity pairings - and was observed long before Richard attempted to take credit for it.

Markets are more complex, however, so the "law" doesn't always ring true.

He didn't notice it first, and it's not really a law.

"Heart's Law incorrectly suggests that pairing a volatile asset with a stable asset will protect it from downside volatility"

"I thought Heart's Law was real, and now I'm down 98%"

Poe's Law

Similar to Murphy's Law, Poe's Law concerns internet debates, particularly regarding religion or politics.

"Without a winking smiley or other blatant display of humor, it is impossible to create a parody of Fundamentalism that SOMEONE won't mistake for the real thing."

In other words, No matter how bizzare, outrageous, or just plain idiotic a parody of a Fundamentalist may seem, there will always be someone who cannot tell that it is a parody, having seen similar REAL ideas from real religious/political Fundamentalists.

The following is an actual Internet post to Biblically defend a flat Earth:

"All I was saying was that either the earth is flat, and the bible is correct, or the earth is round, and the bible is incorect, i'm going to study the issue more and deside for myself which route I want to take. Either Atheist evolutionist, who agrees with all of mainstream sciences, or flat earth litteral bible believer.
I'm leaning toward being an atheist, because if I can't believe the bible to be completly litteraly true, then I can't believe Jesus when he speaks about heaven, etc..
That would make the moon landing a fake, and pretty much all of modern science false..."

Response:

"That's it, I'm claiming Poe's Law on this guy."

Forsen's Law

A law invented by a "special" (retard) homeless minecraft streamer Forsen. Basically it goes something like this:

"The end portal has to be 5-7 rooms away from the main staircases of the stronghold, if its not, then its any room."

-Yo Fors, can you help me find the End portal?
-Yes sure. By the power of Forsen's Law it should be very easy! *Room 1, room 2, room 3, room 4, room 5, room 6, room 7, room 8....* Wait what the fuck, this stronghold is so scuffed, shit game, unlucky.

Hakimi's Law

This is a practice in which a wealthy man transfers his income and net worth to the name of a close relative to prevent financial exploitation by women who marry for the sole purpose of gaining financial benefits from a premeditated divorce.

I don't trust my girlfriend, Natasha. She loves money a lot. If we get married, I am considering applying Hakimi's Law to protect my financial assets.
