I was so confused on why he called himself a liberal republican until I found out he was actually just a centrist.
A National liberal is a combination of liberalism and nationalism. It usually means someone that wants to keep a small government, and freedom of the individual, while keeping ones pride of the country. This is a common form of liberalism in Europe.
European: ‘I’m a liberal’
American: ‘So you support big government and Joe Biden?’
