quote board

Any form of bulletin board used to display humorous sayings. College students often use this as a means of recording daily stupidities.

Pixel quotes

The little double-lines on either side of certain words used to indicate the existence of air quotes, when typing out what someone said.

He said he was "sorry", but I know he wasn't. (Note the pixel quotes)

When my boss told me he would need me to work "some" weekends, I didn't realize he meant "all" weekends. (Two pixel quotes in one sentence!)

Quote Bomb

When you are writing an essay and instead of leading into or mentioning where certain information came from, you throw in a quote. The reader has no idea if the quote is legitimate or even where it is from.

Teacher: Billy, your essay doesn't mention who any of the people are in your citations.

Billy: Opps, guess I threw one too many quote bombs in there, huh?
