Republic of China

China's official name. Most dumbass Americans don't even know it exists, which is made worse by the fact that they legitimised the Communist enslavement of 1.2 billion Mainlanders by betraying the Chinese Republic and recognising Communist rule over all of China (including Taiwan), and don't even fucking know it. But it's to be expected, since Americans are clueless about anywhere else.

Me: I think it's terrible that the US doesn't support the Republic of China in cross-straits tensions.

American: Taiwan is an independent country and not a province of China, blah, blah...

Me: Regardless of which government you support, Taiwan remains a province of China you wierdo.

American: WTF?

Me: Americans are ignorant wierdos.

free republic

The infamous website generally attributed to the conservative platform. Founded by Jim Robinson and based out of Fresno, California, Free Republic is more or less a political discussion group and news forum.

Like any social organization, Free Republic is made up of a varying cross section of society. It has moderates, extremists, Republican-lites, RINOS, Libertarians, even Democrat or left-wing lurkers.

At Free Republic, you'll find lively discussions of current news stories from all over the world, running the gamut of topics and sources. You'll also find members supporting various causes typical of the Conservative agenda (known as FReeping), but again, like all organisations, you'll also find varying degrees of activism and participation.

Visitors to FreeRepublic should, as in all situations regarding dissenting opinion, view the forum with an open mind before making judgements

the purple republic

A trolling group created in the (now closed down) online game known as Club Penguin. This group was created by the image board site 4Chan, and was known for planning large raids on specific days/times in which they would stand in the shape of a Swastika and type all manner of "offensive" things. It was kinda funny.

All the members of this group would be purple penguins, in hard hats, with drills, they would constantly drill while in their "formation"

Example:

The Purple Republic will rise again!

Republic of Vietnam

(VIETNAMESE HISTORY) artificial state created by the 1954 Geneva Agreement (to end the First Indochina War). Parties to the agreement were the People's Republic of China, the USSR, and France; the Vietnamese were stuck with an agreement that perpetuated colonial rule over the majority of their population.

ROVN expected to be a clone of Republic of Korea; however, in ROK, there were a lot of nationalist leaders with a broad popular following, whereas in South Vietnam there weren't; instead, Vietnamese loyalties lay with Vietnamese nation created in May 1945 (by the Viet Minh). This had little to do with Communism, and more to do with the fact that there was nothing Vietnamese about the ROVN. It was not a republic, because there was no legitimate system of choosing the ruler, and no accountability to the people. And it wasn't Vietnamese.

Political opponents of the regime were routinely executed.

Eventually, US withdrew its support because there was an irrepressible conflict between the "realists" in the Pentagon, who understood that the approach to the war had to address widespread peonage, and the neoconservatives, who were ideological fanatics. The ROVN instantly collapsed, because it had no base of support left in the Vietnamese population.

The "Republic of Vietnam" was a comic opera creation, with no legitimacy, no law, no legitimacy; no Vietnamese loved it, its army would not fight for it, its generals mainly sought power of money, and the US military was completely deceived by the whole imposture.
