The act in cue sports, especially in 8-Ball Pool, 9-Ball Pool, and Snooker, of deliberately impacting the cue ball with unnecessary force in an apparently random direction in hopes of fluke-ing a shot which will not end in a scratch/foul.

Especially relevant when the result of the impact results in a correctly pocketed/potted ball.

Acronym. 'Yet another meeting'. A YAM is a pointless meeting organised by an over-zealous manager who feels that a) having a meeting is a form of work and b) he is not doing his job if he isn't talking to his staff CONSTANTLY and stopping them doing something useful.
