West Brit

Derogatory term used in Ireland to describe anyone who believes British (i.e. English) culture, goods or whatever to be invariably superior to their Irish counterparts. Not necessarily living in Dublin, although the capital boasts at least its fair share of them.

Nicola is a right West Brit. She has been living in County Cork for the last nine years and she still gets her milk and bread direct from Surrey.

The West Wing

The best show on televison ever until the 5th season, when it went into a massive decline as a direct result of Aaron Sorkin leaving. While many of the ideas in the show were very, very improbable in a real-life political situation, it still managed to educate more people on the workings of politics than almost any other form of fictional television entertainment (with the possible exception of The Daily Show). Basically rocks my world.

The West Wing is the best TV show ever; President Bartlet needs to take over.

Mountain West

An NCAA conference, but also the mountainous region of the the Mountain Time Zone in the mid-western US, stretching from Idaho, down through Colorado, and into Arizona and New Mexico.

The athletic conference was formed in 1999, from a number of schools leaving the WAC; all stayed until 2011 when realignment elsewhere caused several MWC schools to move up or move out.

In 2012, the Mountain West Conference (or MWC) line-up will be Boise State, San Diego State, Air Force Academy, Colorado State, University of Wyoming, University of New Mexico, UNLV, University of Nevada, and Fresno State in all sports, with University of Hawaii as a football-only member.
