A (generally poor) joke made to a peron for the express purpose of talking to them.
Tom- "Hey Jenny, why'd the chicken cross the road? He needed change for a twenty!"
Jenny- "That doesn't even ma--"
Tom- "So what are you doing later?"
Jenny- "Was that a space-filler joke?"

Literal meaning, a lame inside joke. Urban Dictionary strongly advises you report all inside jokes because the admins don't understand and feel left out. P.S. /shrug please don't get mad admins.
