A pandemic of political correctness gone seriously awry, due to the pussification of America.
A hyphenated American is anyone who takes up space on American soil who isn't white. Since one can no longer used terms like black, Negro, Chinaman, beaner, etc. we now have to say things like African-American, Mexican-American, Hispanic-American, Chinese-American, etc. ad-nauseam.
This phenomenon exists ironically despite the fact that all those people are still Americans, and only Americans! How can you be African and American? You can't. You're either African or American, not both. You can however be a black American (like a white American).
Of course, only non-whites can be hyphenated Americans, because white Americans are simply called Americans, no other term applies.
Those Negroes over there are called Negroes, not African-Americans. They've never even been to Africa, so how in the fuck can they call themselves African-Americans? I'm sick of all these hyphenated Americans. I don't parade around calling myself a European-American...that wouldn't make any sense considering Europe is a continent (not a race) that I've never been to. I'm American damn it! No more, no less! Where's the check box for American-American?

A controversial and failing attempt to euphemize an identity phrase for Black Americans. Unfortunately for the phrase's potential to be literally correct, all humans came from Africa at one time, therefore all people, regardless of breed, color, ethnicity or however one may choose to categorize them, are of African descent. Another problem the more-educated population has with the phrase is that the quickest way to know which specific type of African American one is referring to is to look at their skin. This takes the subject of conversation back to black, eliminating the function of the euphemistic-intentioned phrase. Due to it's failure to positively convey the identity of the Black American without error, the phrase has evolved into a dysphemism and is often spoken between air quotes.
Correct: Aboriginal Australians are black, and many of African emmigrants are black, but African Americans range in color as far as human potential has seen.
Incorrect: Jesse Jackson is an African American but Richard Nixon is not.

A sweet ass movie about the rise of frank Lucas the heroin drug lord and the cop that try's to stop him. The movie is influenced by both Scarface and The God Father but is still of its own. A soon to be American classic.

American English is a language that has so many obvious rules that almost only Americans break.
the difference between "then" and "than". they almost always confuse them. I'm not American but I perfectly know when to use each one!
