Deep Funk

Profound sadness or even depression, especially when caused by a disappointing mistake. It was coined by the chess world champion Magnus Carlsen after loosing against Daniil Dubov because of a clamorous error leading to a quick mate.

"Loosing like this is frustrating, I'm on a deep funk." -Magnus Carlsen on Twitter
"I solved the whole problem all good but then I went 3x3 = 6 and I'm on a deep funk right now."
"I've been in a deep funk since my hamster died because I left the door open and let the cat in."

Raft Funk

An electronic salsa band that was formed in honor of Elian Gonzales and continues to draw attention to the substandard living conditions of aquatic refugees all over the world.

Shit son, that new raft funk is so nasty that I think I'm gonna puke and pass out.

rave funk

Refers to the soiled, vestigial mixture of dirt, sweat, spit, and other substances or liquids collected at the bottom of one's Jncos, Kikwears, or other wide-legged pant cuffs at the end of a night, or early morning, of partying or raving, particularly in a warehouse. Other materials collected on pant cuffs include globs of chewed gum, or even stickers that have come off candy ravers' sweaty faces and fallen to the floor. Rave funk is often accompanied by a dreadful scent mixing perspiration, mud, wet feet, Vicks Vapo Rub, or perhaps lotion, if one was rolling around in an e-puddle earlier that night.

After we emerged from the Home Base warehouse into the parking lot at 8 a.m. after a long, bass-filled night of San Francisco trance, I looked down as I dragged my Adidas Shell-Toes across the pavement and realized I had rave funk covering the bottoms of my pants.

funk sandwich

When your stuck between two people that smell.

I hate standing in line, and in front of me someone
smells, and in back of me someone smells. It's like
being stuck in the middle of a funk sandwich

funk rag

1. ) Someone who is just a complete idiot. Spoken first on Scream 1, not the 2nd, or 3rd, or 4th (that I know of.........)

2.) A rag that is stuck in the 70s. Hecck yeah.

Ian: Brent is just such a funk rag sometimes! Ughh!

Lana: Like, you mean he's soo 70s?

Ian: NO! He's a tool!

Lana: Not a funrag like you.... ;)

funk metal

A hybrid genre of funk and metal charactrezied by funk-like beats, metallic guitar riffs, prominent bass, and occasionally rap. Funk metal was created and rose to popularity on a timeline similar to that of grunge.
One of the earliest forms of alternative metal.

Examples: Rage Against the Machine, Faith No More, Living Colour, Primus, some Red Hot Chili Peppers, etc.

-This is good music. The bassline is complex and groovy but the guitarist is tapping and shredding like a madman.
-Yeah, that's funk metal.
