Boyfriend Answer

A distortion of the truth or flat out lie usually told by a boyfriend to keep the self esteem of the girlfriend or other chick friend unreasonably high.

Chet: No baby I love how high pitched your laugh is, it reminds me of how feminine you are.

Elizabeth: Awe thank you honey I love how good you make me feel.

(later that day)

Chet: Oh my god Billy have you heard how high pitched and annoying Elizabeth's laugh is.

Billy: Yeah dude its really bad, but what did you say when she asked.

Chet: Oh I just gave a boyfriend answer.

Novel Answer

A response used to answer simple questions that require only half of a sentence to answer or less but extended to a 10+ minute painful mental course by overuse of examples by the person/adult (depending if you are a teen) who already answered your question 8 minutes ago. In a result of them answering you that way, you start to either fall asleep, regret you ever asked them the question, scream in your head, or all of the above. The worse part is when after they talked for 20 minutes they finally say that they don't know the answer, and you feel like you want to repeatedly hit your forehead into the wall.

Teen: "Hey dad, do you remember how to find the area of a Triangle?"

Dad: "Well I remember when I was in college learning math...bla bla bla bla bla, blaaaaaa (fart sounds) then my friend died by getting hit by a snake...bla bla bla (40 mintues later) But anyways, no I forgot how to find the Area, the math book is on the table."

Teen: "..............(in his/her mind) not the Novel Answer.......AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. (then says) that's okay dad, ill just take a look in the book then."

*takes book with him/her, and goes into his/her room and crawls into a corner and into a ball for a couple of hours.

clock answer

When someone answers a simple question with an in depth technical description that is far more information than you wanted to know about the subject. The response may or may not answer the original question.

"Hey, what time is it?"
"Well, there are actually lots of different types of clocks. Most mechanical clocks are powered by a weight or a spring which provides the energy to spin the gears of a clock. The pendulum is propelled by the pulley and is connected to a special gear called an escapement. The mass and length of the pendulum are calibrated to cause it to swing at a constant interval and the escapement uses that interval to control the movement of the clock at a constant speed. The gears then spin the hands of the clock at the appropriate ratios to show seconds, minutes, and hours accordingly."
"I just wanted to know the time, not how the clock works. You're giving me a clock answer"
