Ted talk

A conference, a lecture. Mostly used when no one asks anything, but you randomly start talking. You can be serious or faking seriousness for humor, it is used at the end of the last sentence to make the speech seem less serious.

I am more maniac than you think. I have 3 big pillows with 3 different functions that are totally not related to their original function and I can't sleep without them. Thanks for coming to my ted talk

Air talking

To literally talk to the air, when the person you were talking to disconnects from either the internet or cellphone on purpose or is dropped via their provider.

I spent more time air talking, because Kez freaking DC's so much dammit!

Pep Talk

This is usually a 5-10 minute speech given by your Supervisor at work,so as to make you work twice as hard for the same amount of money.

Francisco can take his Pep Talk and shove it up his ass because I ain't working any harder.

talk down

To talk someone down is to speak to them in a soothing voice in an attempt to calm them down, especially when they're vomit-drunk or having a bad trip. This usually takes place behind or next to the person having a bad trip, in front of a bathroom mirror in a stranger's house while your best friend is curled up in a ball in the bathtub and someone already has the toilet.

I wanted to roll over and die after the third hit, but thanks to Derek talking me down I was okay.

She should be alright after a good talk down.

Someone who builds him or herself up with a bunch of talk, but can never back up anything he or she says.

"...and then I surfed down the volcano on a piece of scrap metal, while shooting indians and alligators with my bow and arrow. All of a sudden I saw this really hot girl stuck in a tree, naked, with a pack of hungry gorillas after her, so I swung from a vine and grabbed her, then I jumped onto a passing helicopter. But the helicopter landed in Iraq and Osama bin Laden started chasing us. He shot me but I reflected the bullet off the piece of scrap metal and it ricocheted back and killed him. Then I carried her across the border and all the way to France. Where we got a hotel room and I banged her. Indabutt."

Talking to Someone

A relationship status that is defined by being single, yet reserving yourself for the person you're "talking to".

"Do you know if she's single?"

"She is, but she's talking to someone"

Teddy Talk

A Teddy Talk is a pseudo-intellectual rant that is fueled by copious marijuana consumption. Common topics include the singularity of technology, simplified interpretations of perception, and entrepreneurial ideas that when reviewed sober have no potential. Everyday happenings are characterized as “mystical” in an attempt to create some kind of philosophical content.

I went to Teddy’s room to smoke a bowl and got a Teddy Talk. Apparently we are gonna evolve into an infinite sequence of information.
