A derogatory term for a person who mentions anything about Japan (sometimes other Asian cultures too). Often shortened to weeb.
Originally it was a term for usually white people with an unhealthy obsession for and belief in the absolute superiority of japanese culture, called "wapanese", "wannabe japanese" or "white japanese". However today it has lost that meaning and became a simple insult to shame anyone for knowing anything about Japan.
Since japanese culture (or Asian culture in general) is relatively or becoming more popular in the west, the existence of the term could stem from an unspoken inner belief of one's own western culture being challenged.
Person A: I like hamburgers.
Person B: I like Sushi.
Person A: Omg what a weeaboo lmao.

An obnoxious person that claims to ironically be a "weeaboo" because he's insecure about liking Japanese media.
The ironic weeaboo usually only "likes" anime and that are considered novel and low-depth like Maidragon, Monster Musume and Love Live or entry level such as Kill la Kill, Evangelion, and Jojo. The same goes for his Japanese game tastes which usually consists of equally surface-y series such as Neptunia, Senran Kagura, and Danganronpa of which most of the time he'll never actually play and will only claim so due to, again, it's novelty and "Japanese-ness"; The most the ironic weeaboo will ever actually "play" a game are pay-to-win mobages featuring fapbait girls such as Granblue Fantasy and Fate/Grand Order as it's easier to get into by just throwing hundreds of dollars at the screen than putting the investment in an actual, in-depth game as that would make them too "cringey" and "weird".
The ironic weeaboo is also quite fond of forced loosely anime-derived fads such as Earth-chan, Smug Wendy's, "Traps aren't gay", vaporwave, etc. and tired out phrases that have lost their meaning entirely like "waifu" and "thicc".
When the ironic weeaboo brings himself among the people that actually are actual fans of Japanese media he will immediately be hated which then the ironic weeaboo will become immensely butthurt. Thus he'll usually only ever be around other ironic weeaboos instead. You can mostly see them writhing about in Discord servers with anime girl avatars.

A disgusting, offensive, and extremely derogatory word equivalent to the word Nigger to Anime and Manga fans. It is a word usually punishable via Castration or Boiling in extra hot oil testicles first. It has since even lost it's original definition, and is often misspelled weaboo by ignorant idiots who just want to make themselves look cool and be derogatory and hateful towards others.
The original definition is/was anyone who isn't from Japan whom is so obsessed with it's culture that it gets to the point where it's all they think and talk about. They usually (but not always) Cosplay, attend Anime Conventions, try to speak Japanese even though they're not Japanese, and own tons of Anime Blurays/Manga and their rooms look like they haven't gotten laid in 20 years.
Nothing wrong with this, imho but that's what the word means. If you're going to use such a disgusting and derogatory word, at least make sure you fully understand it's definition,spell it right, and GET A FUCKING LIFE! The socially acceptable non derogatory word form for this is Otaku or Anime Nerd.
How's it's used today:
Anybody who watches Anime or reads Manga or even likes anything out of the ordinary is a weeaboo or Japanophile. Even if they only watch it for entertainment and don't overly obsess about it. Or sometimes, they're called a weeaboo and don't even watch Anime or read Manga. Go Figure.
